Inspiration and Challenge Speaking Series

In conjunction with the goals of our first pillar of service – Support and Celebration – The Hope Exchange’s Executive Director Tim Huff travels both locally and nationwide to speak to small groups or large gatherings, inspiring and encouraging Hope Givers, and inviting others to engage in hope giving.

Tim receives dozens of speaking inquiries and invitations each season – locally, provincially and nationally. The topics range widely, but each one is designed to inspire and challenge. While accommodating specific requests, Tim is also developing a special “speaking series”…

Current speaking series titles include:
Unearthing the Ultimate Plan; Bring Hope, Serve Well, Celebrate.
Living Out a Kitchen Table Revolution

Working titles under development:
The Glorious Invitation to Heart Break; The Call to Radical Compassion
Bumper Sticker Blues; The Hope Exchange Paradigm
Decoding the Area Codes; A 416ers Conversation with the 905
Decoding the Area Codes; A 416ers Conversation with the 705

“I knew from his book that Tim Huff is a brilliant storyteller but when he shares in person, he is dynamic. Tim had over 400 people at the Living Rock Gala hanging on every word. He has a way of articulating what we know to me true about the needs of street-involved youth and adults. Not only is he able to be a voice for youth but he is able to express concepts in a way that has stayed with me as a point of reflection all year.” Karen Craig, BA/RSW, Program Director, Living Rock – Hamilton

“Tim was kind and gracious enough to visit our book club to discuss his book Bent Hope, after we had read it as a group. Tim is an amazing speaker and he answered all our questions without hesitation or judgment. Initially, I thought just reading the book had really opened my eyes, our eyes, to life on the streets – but once Tim left, we had a whole new understanding and appreciation for the challenges and heartache that come to the homeless. A lot of stereotypes were broken and a newfound respect was gained for both those on the streets and those who give of their time, money and selves to help them”. Dawn Millar – Etobicoke Book Club

“Tim has spoken twice at The Olive Branch–and each time has managed to capture us with his sincerity, his accurate description of need–based on personal experience–and his compelling call to Hope. The depth of his experience with people in desperate need–the people without a voice–the hope-less, has given him the opportunity to speak on their behalf. His call to live a hope-filled life and serve well gently called us as followers of Jesus to not just wring our hands–but engage. Somehow, Tim finds a way to help the people want to make a difference by using hope and understanding–not guilt–as the motivating fuel when he speaks. I will have him speak here as often as I am able to”. Ken Davis, Lead Pastor – THE OLIVE BRANCH Community Church
