We find meaningful and creative ways to honour, encourage, inspire and come alongside the Hope Givers.
Pillar One: Support and Celebration – Coming alongside vocational Hope Givers.
Creativity and imagination are central to all of The Hope Exchange’s endeavours, and nowhere is this more imperative than in the area of support and celebration of Hope Givers. This is a vital area, far too often overlooked or under-prioritized.
From nurses to clergy, teachers to outreach and social service workers, frontline volunteers to residential caregivers – we recognize the gravity and personal cost of what they go, and what they give. The Hope Exchange creates small and large forums for Hope Givers that inspire, encourage and help sustain them through the challenges of their work and service.
We aim to reach the depths of the “heart issues” they face, helping them to continue pouring out their best while pursuing and maintaining personal wellness – upholding body, mind and spirit. This may include a variety of methodologies, from small group discussions that tackle vocation-specific topics, to larger group events that focus on broader issues such as “compassion fatigue”. What we do, and how we do it will unfold as the vision and resources within The Hope Exchange grow.
The Hope Exchange’s first step forward in this area was a giant one. More than simply “a leap of faith” for a charity only a few months old, you might say it was “a leap of faith, hope and love”. The Overture of Hope helped to lay the foundation for this third pillar of The Hope Exchange’s activities, while announcing who The Hope Exchange is and hallmarking our identity and vision in a very public manner. It was one portion gathering, one portion listening, one portion learning, and one giant portion celebration – stemming from a singular goal that “no one leave unblessed”.
